These self-interviews are designed to capture authentic experiences from people who have already taken action — whether that’s upgrading a home to electric systems, improving energy efficiency, supporting electrification projects, or helping others move toward renewable energy.

The goal is not perfection or production value. It’s clarity, honesty, and usefulness. Viewers want to hear directly from people who have been through the process and can speak to outcomes such as improved comfort, safety, health, reliability, cost savings, and energy efficiency.

These videos may be shared and promoted in multiple ways, including websites, presentations, social media, educational materials, and community outreach, helping extend the impact of your experience.

Before recording, take a moment to gather your thoughts and decide what you’d like to say. Most videos include a brief introduction, a description of the project, upgrade, or program, and a short explanation of how the work turned out.

We suggest speaking for at least 15 seconds and sharing how your efforts support outcomes such as the value, safety, comfort, health, and energy efficiency in your home. Optional: Many participants also choose to include contact information so others can learn more or follow up.

You’ll receive an email invitation with a link that takes you directly to your recording page. You’ll see a brief welcome message, then you can select “Reply” and choose to respond by video. You may need to set your camera and microphone.

You can start, stop, and re-record if necessary. When you’re finished, you simply stop the recording and post the video through the same link. From there, we handle review, preparation, and sharing.
