A heat pump is a device that transfers thermal energy (hot or cold air) from one place to another, providing both heating or cooling for a building by moving heat rather than creating it. In the winter, it moves heat from the outside air or ground into the home, and in the summer, it reverses to move heat from inside the home to the outside. This makes them a very energy-efficient alternative.
